L’invitation officielle, en anglais, vient de nous être communiquée, comme suit.

"The London European Partnership for Transport is delighted to be hosting the European Conference on Mobility Management (ECOMM) in London this year (June 4-6) in partnership with Transport for London and the UK’s Department for Transport. ECOMM is the largest conference in Europe dedicated to sustainable transport, hosted each year by a different European city and a centrepiece for the European Platform on Mobility Management (EPOMM). EPOMM provides support to countries seeking to implement sustainable transport initiatives by actively promoting the exchange of experience and state of the art techniques in this field. Over 500 representatives from national governments, local and regional authorities, researchers, major employers, transport operators and other user groups from across the world are expected to attend the 12th annual ECOMM event at Chelsea Football Club, Fulham Road, London, on 4-6 June 2008.

This year’s theme : Travel Demand Management - Tackling Climate Change, reflects the underlying importance of the wide range of mobility management measures currently implemented on local and national levels to achieve significant reductions in CO2 emissions. The impact of climate change, combined with issues such as congestion and obesity, demands the integration and implementation of sustainable transport across all key policy areas, therefore requiring a significant change in the behaviour of organisations and individuals. ECOMM 2008 will be focusing on how such behaviour change can be achieved by examining current and future policy, projects and campaigns. Politicians including the Mayor of London and other high profile speakers from sectors including finance, business and health will share a variety of perspectives and strategies in panel sessions and discussion with delegates. In addition, over 100 speakers have been allocated across 35 parallel sessions and interactive sessions over the three days to share practical experiences on all aspects of sustainable transport.
