Certu and its local authority partners Much of Certu’s work is carried out in partnership with local authorities. Here are just a few examples: · Together with the AMF (French Mayors’ Association), the 8th and 9th editions of the "Road safety – what mayors can do" event were hosted in Péronne (near Amiens) and Cour-Cheverny (near Blois) respectively. · With the FMVM (French Federation of Mayors of Medium-Sized Towns), a partnership was established in 2006 in order to develop publications and technical sheets on the specific problems faced by this category of town. Throughout the course of the year, a seminar on the future of urban life, jointly organised with the South East inter-region of the CNFPT (French National Centre for Local Government), brought together directors from local authorities and intercommunal structures to consider the way in which small and medium-sized towns are changing. · Other, more thematic activities took place in partnership with regional delegations of the CNFPT (e.g. Rhône-Alpes, Poitou-Charentes, Languedoc-Roussillon). · Certu’s partnership with Gart (Association of French Passenger Transport Authorities) and the UTP (French Public Transport Union) continued to thrive, with the production of data systems concerning urban public transport. A convention with the AITF (French Association of Territorial Engineers) was also signed, further strengthening an already fruitful collaboration between this association and various Certu working groups. · The ATTF (French Association of Territorial Technicians) has provided valuable assistance in the production of numerous methodological publications, as well as during proofreading workshops of these works prior to finalisation. · Finally, we must not forget the towns and cities themselves, who are always ready to give Certu a helping hand – whether it’s to assist with testing a new road layout, to outline the approach adopted during an urban renewal project, or to share their experiences of Transport on Request…
