Progress report on CURACAO project: February 2008 seminar
15-04-2008
The third CURACAO project meeting took place from 25th to 27th February 2008 in Amsterdam. This seminar was open to all project members (30 people), and some sessions were open to the public. A total of 80 people attended this seminar: technicians, R&D companies, politicians and academics. To find out more about this project, contact Damien Verry at Certu.
The three days of the seminar were an opportunity to present and discuss a large number of case studies of urban tolls in Europe. To obtain more details about the debates and discussions, please consult Damien Verry’s report. He represents Certu in this project (report only available in French).
The next meeting is planned for next September in Berlin. This project is scheduled to end in a year, with the publication of a series of works:
- A state of the art report on urban tolls in Europe (a report of roughly 200 pages with budget specifically set aside for academics to conduct a critical proof-reading).
- A good practice guide, which finally will be reworked in the form of a presentation (ppt). The idea is that any town or city that wants to set up an urban toll can pick and choose the best ideas and re-use them in its presentation.
- A database containing all the information about the cases studied. This database will be put online and will allow queries according to theme and city/town.
- A summary of the knowledge collectively acquired in the project, in the form of ten or so thematic information sheets (2-3 pages per sheet).
- A series of articles about the project results , and participation in an international symposium in 2009 to disseminate these results.
