Delegations received in the first quarter of 2008

   15-04-2008

Three delegations visited Certu during this first quarter, ranging from reception of groups of specialists appointed by the Japanese embassy in France, to a group of students from Louvain-La-Neuve.

Monday 25th February, managers from the International Development Institute (IDI-Japan) met Benoît Hiron and Dominique Prat. The purpose of the meeting was to learn more about the bicycle policy in France.

Wednesday 12th March, Martine Meunier-Chabert welcomed a group of students from Louvain-La-Neuve. She gave a presentation on the issue of coherence between Urban Planning Transport and travel covering the different sizes of territories and the tools used:

  • large territories or metropolitan scale (inter-regional coherence plan (interSCoT) or local governance tool / Express network in the Lyons agglomeration: REAL)
  • agglomeration (Development Scheme (SD), Regional Coherence Plan (SCoT) / Urban transport plan (PDU))
  • inter-municipal and municipal (local urban planning scheme (PLU) / strong public transport line)
  • district and block (Development operations – joint development zone (ZAC), business park, peripheral commercial zone, large facility / public transport service) illustrated by the Lyons example.

The presentation ended with a debate between Martine Meunier-Chabert and the students. This visit is part of a study trip organised within the framework of a masters degree at the Catholic University of Louvain in Urban Planning and local development. The programme for this one week stay in Lyons was drawn up partly with the Certu. Friday 21st March, Mr Hiroyuki Yamato and Kota Tsubouchi from the University of Tokyo met Edmée Richard and Robert Clavel. The discussions concerned transport on demand and collective taxis with a presentation of experiences in France and Japan. (Attached Mr Kota Tsubouchi with two Certu personnel).
