China: Certu’s involvement in a FASEP programme
24-03-2008
Since September 2007, Certu has played an active part in a FASEP programme, with the SODIT , the Thalès group, Citilog, the intelligent transport mission (MTI) of the MEDAD and the Cete in Lyon. The programme is aimed at developing a prototype to give priority to buses at traffic lights in Shanghai, to prepare for the universal exhibition in 2010. Certu and the Cete in Lyon help their partners to clarify the objectives and select the road junctions, and then tey evaluate the results.
The programme dovetails into the Franco-Chinese collaboration undertaken by the MTI, and whose framework agreement concerning sustainable development provides for several seminars.
Two missions have already been carried out:
- The first one involved a trip to Shanghai in October 2007, a mission in which Jacques Nouvier (CERTU) and Dominique Bertrand (Cete, Lyon) took part. The mission was preceded by a seminar in Beijing on Buses with High Levels of Service (the French approach to Bus Rapid Transit – BRT). The presentation made during the seminars is available as an appendix (only in English)
- The second one also took the form of a trip to Shanghai, in March 2008.
