Certu at the first International Transport Forum (Leipzig, May 2008)
Jacques Nouvier 01-08-2008
This inaugural forum has been developed to promote exchanges and develop common thinking between the ECMT (European Conference of Ministers of Transport), civil society, and researchers. For this first ever forum, the subject under discussion was "Transport and Energy – the Challenge of Climate Change". Among the 850 people present at this forum – representing over 50 different countries – were international personalities such as Rajendra Pachauri (chairman of the IPCC, awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 along with Al Gore), German chancellor Angela Merkel and Thomas Enders (CEO of Airbus).
Jacques Nouvier from Certu was invited to this forum as chairman of the OECD–ECMT working group on speed management (report published in 2007). In his report (which can be downloaded as an attachment – French only), you will find more specific information about the forum and its principal messages, the detailed programme for the forum, and associated press releases.
