Vulnerable users are a concern for road safety in cities. Accident figures highlight the fact that such users are still at risk and that improvements made to date mainly concern drivers and car passengers. A working group has been set up, called “le Code de la Rue” (Road Code). This working group is exploring several possibilities: the principle of the strongest taking precautions with regard to the weakest, linking limited access pedestrian areas to 30km/h zones, accident figures and contra-flow cycle lanes.
