The urban nature of a city is distinguished by presence of a large number of vulnerable users. Accident figures for vulnerable users have not decreased as they have for other road users, and this is especially true in the case of motorcyclists. This then is a key area of study for the State and territorial authorities which need to develop new skills to deal with such hitherto neglected issues as motorcycle safety. A working group (led by Préfet Guyot) has been set up to explore safety solutions for motorised two-wheel vehicles. Planning resources are needed to take account of safety for motorised two-wheel vehicles.
