Road sharing gives rise to conflicts of use which may occasionally have unfortunate and even dramatic consequences. It remains essential to continue spreading information on best practices, consolidate existing expertise and train personnel involved in inter-commune cooperation. The year 2006 saw this desire for cooperation spread throughout France, with the nomination of an interministerial coordinator for the development of cycle use.
