Air pollution is a growing concern among the population. It ahs been proved that traffic in our cities is the prime cause. Certu deals only with pollution linked to ground-based transport infrastructures, extending over the regions. Changes in the law and regulations confirm the need for the State and the territorial authorities to tackle the problems of air pollution and health. Studies and action are mainly aimed at developing resources for implementing policy regarding air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions, within the framework of territorial coherence schemes (SCoT), Local Urban Planning Schemes (PLU) and Urban Transportation Plans (PDU).
