The technologies developed in the transportation sector are many and varied. In particular, they include new engine technology, design techniques, communication and information systems. Every individual means of transportation should be thought of as a system that includes rolling stock, infrastructure and operating facilities and procedures. Certu has a long history and extensive experience in this field; it has thus played a major role in dealing with the issues of integrating light rail networks into cities, to the emerging concept of High Quality Bus Services and of innovative schemes such as car-sharing and car-pooling and, more generally, to spreading information on intelligent transportation systems.
