Transportation and planning
Transportation planning is central to public policy. In addition to the right to transport, it seeks to meet the challenges involved in urban planning, in protecting the environment and health, and in reducing energy consumption. It has now become part of a dynamic that extends to social issues, particularly the issue of accessibility, and to the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions (France’s Climate Plan). This study topic will introduce new prospects to improve forecasting methods and make them more suitable for studying the areas of uncertainty and the alternatives and for opening them up to greater public involvement and public debate.
