Managing mobility implies influencing the demand for transportation in a bid to encourage people to change their behaviour patterns and explore the use of alternative modes of transport. This is covered by policy on transportation management and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This is a vast area of potential innovation: new corporate organisation (company travel plans), new transportation practices (car pooling, ecomobility and school transport) and new professions related to advice on mobility. There is a European platform on mobility management (EPOMM) and a network of key players in France.
